OUR STORY
Breaking boundaries through quality education and digital skills training.

How it all started...
Before the Japa (High Migration) Era transformed Nigeria and Africa, we recognized a prevailing challenge—the lack of a Talent Era. In our quest to address this issue and overcome the scarcity of tech professionals needed to tackle technological challenges at our parent company, Tenece, A free initiative called Genesys Tech Hub was birthed in 2016. The primary focus was to train tech talents for our parent company and extend their expertise to affiliated companies. With a keen eye on talent retention, we dedicated our efforts to empowering young individuals, undergraduates, and fresh graduates.
Over seven transformative years, Genesys Tech Hub has successfully trained over 4000 individuals who have gone on to achieve remarkable milestones. Some of our graduates have found their place in prestigious companies like Google and Microsoft. In contrast, others have fearlessly launched their ventures, such as Yvonne Ogwulu of TechGirl Magic, Joshua Mba of Stake cut, Aaron Esumeh of Greenage Technology, Emeka Onyebuchi of Scuudu Labs, and countless more.
“It was a life-changing opportunity, not just training.”
These heartfelt words echo the profound impact we have had on the lives of these young individuals. Through our comprehensive programs encompassing business incubation, technical training, and essential soft skills, we equip them with the necessary tools to navigate their personal and professional lives. From effective communication and leadership to the art of pitching and collaborative teamwork, we shape well-rounded individuals poised for success.

2016-2020

All our training took place on-site, and the success stories that emerged from Genesys Tech Hub were inspiring. However, we were unable to accommodate the overwhelming number of passionate young applicants yearning for an opportunity. It wasn’t because they fell short of the acceptance criteria but due to our limited resources. Each cohort was restricted to a maximum intake of 32 individuals per year.
2021

We launched our virtual training platform, which enabled us to extend our reach and accommodate more aspiring trainees. Yet, this further revealed the incredible hunger and determination of numerous young individuals striving to transcend the challenging economic circumstances in Africa.
2022

We embarked on a journey to restructure our training methods, recognizing that by harnessing the global demand for tech talents, we could create countless job opportunities for Africans, alleviate poverty, and provide a gateway to a brighter future.
And thus, Genesys Foundation was born!
A non-profit organization dedicated to reducing poverty and unemployment among women and young people in Africa. Our mission is to provide top-notch technical training, foster digital entrepreneurial skills, and offer opportunities for enterprise development.
By creating a pool of globally competitive young African women and youth, we aim to foster an enabling business environment and drive sustainable economic growth across the continent. Together, we can rewrite the narrative, empowering individuals to break free from limitations and embrace boundless opportunities.
